Welcome!

Studio2

My studio in 2012 – probably the last time it was this clean!

This weekend, I spent two days sorting, organizing and rearranging my paper crafting and art supplies.

TWO DAYS.

I am one of those crafters who needs to have a clean slate – that means that I return products to their homes and clear my working space before starting another project.  As I unpacked crop supplies and purchases, organized monthly kits and cleared paperwork off my worktable, I thought about how many pages I could be creating in that time.

I also realized that it was highly unlikely that I would use all of the 144 sheets of alphabet stickers (not to mention the box of chipboard letters).  I had to face reality and admit that I just had Too. Much. Stuff.

There.  I said it.  After years of subscribing to the mantra that you can never have too much stuff, I realized that yes, you can.

And so, I started this blog, Exhaust Your Excess (or E.Y.E., for short!), hoping that there are others out there who are tired of spending time and energy on organizing their hoard of supplies and want to get more scrapping done.  And who believe that you don’t have to use the newest products to create beautiful, meaningful pages.

How It Will Work:

Each Sunday, I will post a challenge that will hopefully encourage you to release your inhibitions and free up the reins on your supplies.  You will post a link to your project in your comment on the challenge post and at the end of the month, I will draw a winner from the month’s participants.  Of course, the prize will not be more scrapbooking supplies (that would be counterproductive!), but I will send the winner a little somethin’!

In an effort to encourage people to play along, I am offering a $15 Tim Horton’s or Starbucks gift card to one lucky winner!  Simply share this on Facebook, Twitter, your blog, Google+, etc and leave me a comment (with a link to your share) to earn a ballot for each share!

Please be sure to tag me with your share and to link to this blog!

  2. I shared on Facebook and Twitter. I have way too much stuff. I could scrapbook for two years straight without buying anything except adhesive.
