Jessi Lute

Hello! I was born and raised on Vancouver Island and currently live in Alberta. I have loved all things creative since as far back as I can remember; a few of my current favourite creative endeavors are photography, crochet, quilting, scrapbooking and baking. I am married to a wonderful man who is incredibly understanding and supportive of all my creative journeys. I homeschool my 3 beautiful children, which has been a wonderful journey to date. i might be a gypsy at heart, have hippie tendancies and am creatively exploring life by delighting in the small & simple things.

I am a small town Saskatchewan girl obsessed with the big scrapbooking world. I am a hockey, soccer, band, and broomball mom who, in my oodles of spare time, work at the local library and run a thriving photography business from our home. I love chocolate, Shakespeare and travelling. In my scrapbooking experience, I have designed for an online kit club and stamp company, had layouts published in both Canadian Scrapbooker and Creating Keepsakes magazines, and have had a layout featured on the cover of Canadian Scrapbooker. I am currently dabbling in the exciting new world of pocket scrapbooking but still loves my good old standby, the 12×12 layout.

I discovered scrapbooking in 2003 and haven’t looked back since!  A transplanted city gal now living in the country, I am originally from Alberta but now live in rural Ontario.  I am a Mom to three great kids – 14 year old son, Evan, and twin 11 year old daughters, Alicia and Vanessa.  I am also a wife to hubby of 15 years and business partner, Stephen.  I love scrapbooking because of the memories it captures, but also because of the wonderful friends I have met through this fantastic hobby.  Patterned paper and alphabet stickers are my biggest obsessions in life!  When I am is not shuttling my kids to their various school, sports and social activities, I divided my time between my paid work in the home improvement industry, my passions for photography, scrapbooking, reading, skiing, group exercise classes, and – most recently – Irish dance!

I am a self confessed workaholic. So you may ask, when do I have time to be artistic? Well anytime I am not working because I am also a scrapaholic and need to be creative. One balances out the other and vice versa, if you know what I mean. I am a dual brain thinker, very analytical and logical by day, but creative and intuitive by night! I have a wonderful DH that supports my habit. I have no children of my own but have a plethora of kids in my life that my friends generously donate to my photography. I am looking forward to the inspiration that comes with using up my stash!

And if you don’t know me…

Sue Sykes

Hello all!  I have been scrapbooking since 2000, and have been a contributing writer for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine since its’ inception in 2005.  I have worked for several design teams and once owned a successful monthly kit company.  I am so grateful to the online scrapbooking communities which have allowed me to foster such wonderful lifelong friendships.  I have been married to my best friend, Gary, since 1997 and we have two beautiful children:  a son, Connor (14), and a daughter, Aili (9).  (BTW – Aili rhymes with Riley… Don’t worry if you didn’t get it right – nobody does! :p)

Thanks to these talented ladies for joining me – and if you’d like to be a guest challenger one week, please contact me via sue{dot}sykes{at}gmail{dot}com.

Cheers,
