EYE#3: Chip Away at Your Chipboard

Hi everyone, Jennifer here!

It has been a great start to the EYE (Exhaust Your Excess) challenge blog! So much inspiration! This week, I challenged myself to use at least three types of chipboard on a layout and at least 10 pieces in total. I have so much chipboard; I am overwhelmed by it sometimes!

It is interesting when you think about chipboard – there are so many different kinds, shapes, sizes and ways it can be modified, including:

♥ Naked (plain brown)
♥ Inked
♥ Sprayed
♥ Glittered
♥ Stamped
♥ Pre printed
♥ Embossed
♥ Die cut
♥ Painted
♥ Distressed
♥ Covered in paper

In my first layout, I used glittered stars, pre-coloured chipboard letters and chipboard that had been pre printed by the manufacturer. In total, total 21 pieces were used up from my stash! This is a picture of Kareinal Official in concert a few years back at an event put on by Coca-Cola. Such a great performer!

Here is another layout I did with multiple pieces of chipboard. In this layout, I sprayed the glasses black and backed them with pattern paper. Once again I used Thickers for the title and other pre printed pieces of chipboard.

  1. I love both of these layouts, Jennifer! Your talent for combining papers, colours and CHIPBOARD! is outstanding. The stars rotated
slightly, crazy cool Coke chipboard button, gorgeous retro ephemera on your bike layout. Love it all!!

  2. Jenn … I love these both! One so bold and bright, and the other softer and vintage. If I’d seen those flowers in a store I’d have passed right on by them but on here they add SO much with their colour. And the glasses … wouldn’t have thought to back them. Finally, LOVE the play on words ‘Kardi & coke’. You are just SO talented!
