Sorry for the delay in posting this week – having some technical difficulties! Here’s Jennifer’s challenge this week! – ~ Sue
Hi everyone – It’s Jennifer! This week I felt like using up some really old supplies, so old they are truly vintage finds!
I recently went on a trip to the US and hit the 127 Yardsale, 695 miles of yard sales from Addison, MI into Georgia. We only made it to Kentucky but had a great time, picking and finding vintage items.
I decided to take some of them and combine them with my current stash of stuff and make a altered picture.
First I started with a really old picture and frame, this frame has convex glass in it and a picture glued to it. First I soaked it and scrapped off the picture from the glass.
Then I painted it lightly with Annie Sloan chalk paint.
Next, I covered the backing with burlap:
Next, I took a variety of vintage items: glass buttons, shells, old punch time card, ribbon flowers and combined them with newer items, like the Creative Embellishments, steam punk dress form, K&CO Butterflies, Maya Road diecuts, ribbon and various found items.
This was the outcome, making a soft and feminine wall hanging. Very simple to make, just arranging and organizing items into an eye pleasing arrangement.
I love all the vintage finds we found on out trip, those glass buttons are one of my favourite things, they has so much sparkle to them. I also love the vintage looking finger that I picked up recently at Treasured Memories in Edmonton.
Can’t wait to see how you use some of your vintage products!

Jennifer, your talent never stops inspiring me. You are the layering queen (sung to Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean. Who would ever think about putting sand dollars with a vintage punk steam dress form with wings!! LUV
