EYE#7 | Aye EYE-lets, Captain!

Hello, everyone!  Jennifer here this week, with our SEVENTH challenge!

One of the very first items I used in scrapbooking were eyelets… I saw people using them but did not have any scrapbook supplies.  So off I went to Home Depot!   Yes, that is where I went to get supplies! :)  I picked up a package of eyelets (used for belts, etc) and a eyelet setter for leather working and I put them to use on my first scrapbook page.  This is my very first scrapbook page!

aug24_jhs1 I used some old calendar pages, cardstock, vellum and a hole punch. Wow, we have come a long way!

My stash of eyelets grew to many different sizes, shapes and manufacturers and I officially got the Making Memories eyelet setter tool set!  I wanted to use as many eyelets as I could on my layout; I used them inside the major circles on this layout to highlight the circles.  In total, 40 eyelets were used on this sailing layout:

Supplies used:  Basic Grey patterned papers, banner, badge buttons and flags; Studio Calico wooden shapes; Prima Marketing flowers; Making Memories eyelets.

The funny thing is that when I went to dig out my Making Memories tool set, I found that I could not find the tiny hammer…so in the spirit of coming full circle, I went to the garage and got a regular size hammer out of my household tool kit!

Here are some close ups of the layout and the details. This picture was taken last weekend as we sailed in the fog…it was beautiful but kind of freaky to see boats come out of the fog.

This week’s challenge:  USE your eyelets on your layouts! Please use at least 15 (or more!) – they can be in any size, any colour, any supplier.  And as the layout says… “LET’S DO THIS!”
